Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail takes a well-loved podcast and turns it into a TV series. Homecoming is technically created by its podcast authors, Micah Bloomberg and Eli Horowitz, yet its got Esmail's stamp all over it; no surprise as he does direct every episode. Julia Roberts stars as Heidi Bergman, a counselor at a facility called Homecoming who helps veterans transition back into civilian life.
The show flits back and forth between Heidi's first day on the job, to a point in the future, where she's back home with her mom, working as a waitress with a foggy memory of her time at Homecoming. Who doesn't like watching a bunch of incredibly wealthy people from 20th century Britain swan about on an estate? Downton Abbey captivated the TV landscape when it debuted in 2010, capturing the hearts and minds of, well, millions of viewers. The fictional Crawley family lead the story, as their lives are interwoven with real-life historical events. The sinking of the Titanic in 1912 kicks things off with World War I coming to serve as a major plot point. All the while the drama and politics of the Crawleys - and their arsenal of servants - becomes all the more intriguing.
Invincible is a superhero comedy based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, who co-created The Walking Dead comic. The adult animated series follows Mark Grayson , the son of the most powerful superhero on Earth, Omni-Man, AKA Nolan Grayson (J.K. Simmons). After Mark's 17th birthday, he starts to develop his own powers – but his father is there to help him learn how to handle them. The ensemble voice cast also includes Sandra Oh, Mark Hamill, and Seth Rogen. Don't be fooled by the animated Saturday morning cartoon style – this is anything but family friendly, and there are more than a handful of twists in the first few episodes alone.
Most of the below streaming services have a monthly and a yearly plan. While a yearly plan works out cheaper in the long run, you won't be able to cancel at any time, so if you're unsure, opt for the free trial or monthly plan because this gives you more cancellation flexibility until you make up your mind. After you've made up your mind, you can always take a yearly subscription. It's an on-demand streaming service that allows you to watch the latest movies, TV shows and live sport from a range of devices like your TV, laptop or tablet. If you're a big fan of BoJack Horseman, you are going to love Undone, a similarly-acerbic animated series following familiar themes of mental illness from the same creators of the Netflix show. Undone follows 28-year-old Alma , a woman stuck in the monotonous rhythm of life who feels utterly unfulfilled in her relationship with her boyfriend Sam . But after a near-fatal car crash, Alma finds her life physically begin to change – time is now non-linear, and Alma has the uncontrollable ability to travel back and forth in time. While it's a fun genre-bending romp, what's even more special about Undone, is that it's the first ever TV series to use an animation style called rotoscoping for every single episode. Rotascoping is an animation method in which video is meticulously digitally traced over, creating something that looks both surreal and ultra-realistic.
With splendid writing, acting and gorgeous visuals, Undone is well worth every second of your time. ExpressVPN stands out from the competition in terms of price, features, and value. With servers in nearly 100 countries, MediaStreamer Smart DNS functions, blazing connection speeds, and reliable access to multiple streaming services, ExpressVPN offers everything a Prime user needs. When it comes to streaming TV shows and movies that are only available in specific countries, you're better off using Netflix or any other streaming service that lets you use international content libraries.
If that's the case, you should check out the best streaming VPN and Netflix VPN services. Feature-wise Britbox is lagging behind the competition as well. There's no option to download content for offload viewing, almost a necessity for streaming services at this point, and the lack of subtitles on much of the content will be a dealbreaker for some. The Now TV Entertainment Pass lets you watch over 300 box sets, including Watchmen, Gangs of London, Succession, Game of Thrones, Chernobyl and Curb Your Enthusiasm for £9.99/mnth.

So, yeah, we're probably going to be streaming the hell out of it when it lands on Prime Video this month. The films and shows will all be available to stream for free as part of a Prime Video subscription, which costs £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year and comes with a 30-day free trial. Billed as a multi-holiday romantic comedy series, With Love follows the Diaz siblings – Lily and Jorge Jr. – on a mission to find, well, love and some purpose in their lives. This miniseries' five episodes see Lily, Jorge Jr. and the rest of the Diaz family navigate the highs and lows of finding love across different holiday periods throughout the year, including Christmas Eve and New Year's Day. However, their Prime Music Unlimited service offers about 40 million songs and is cheaper than most other music streaming services if you add it to the full Prime service. Prime Video may be bringing us the Lord of the Rings TV show, but while we wait there's another epic fantasy show to watch.
The Wheel of Time is also based on a series of books and stars Rosamund Pike as a member of a powerful organization of women who can use magic. She takes a group of five young people on a journey around the world, believing one of them might be the prophesied reincarnation of the Dragon. The fourth episode is where things really pick up, and it's well worth diving into. It's a class comedy turned heist film with no tangible loot involved, a heartbreaking family drama that suddenly descends into a chaotic hellscape without losing its traction for a second.
The series isn't entirely fictional, with a heavy does of realistic satire and mimicking of the world's financial crisis. And that's all before you're even introduced to Ron Swanson. For fans of American mockumentaries, Modern Family is another to add on the 'to watch' list.
There are eight series currently on Prime following the lives of one big extended family living in suburban Los Angeles. There's Michell and Cam, a gay couple with their adopted daughter Lily, the Dunphies with their trio of children, and Jay with his young wife Gloria and her son. Their family life is messy but hilarious as they get into scrapes every episode, breaking the fourth wall numerous times along the way. The show will land on both streaming services from Thursday 6 January, so be sure to clear your schedule! Fans of the show will also be treated to the first five seasons, which will become available on the season six launch. Shame it's not possible to leave zero stars because this film in my view is dreadful.
I love all types of films and especially a good horror film. The acting or lack of it in this movie makes watching the nonexistent plot even harder. I paid £7.99 so forced myself to watch to the end but found myself becoming annoyed that I'd wasted my hard earned on this trash. We all have different tastes and some may find this interesting but good luck!!.
There was one part I didn't like, I think it spoils the film, but I won't mention here don't won't to spoil it for anyone.. This Director Jordan Peele guy is definitely in touch with higher pontential.. It's nice to see something different to what's generally out there these days.. And there's some camera angles / shots that I don't believe they have ever done before.. And I been to Sant Cruz when I was 19, where they film the beach scenes.. Britbox is promising a slate of original content in the coming months, the first offering will be a drama called Lambs of God, as well as series from Channel 4, so we definitely see a potential for this service in the future.
There's definitely still value to a Britbox subscription as it stands, by offering a stronger collection of British television than any of its competitors it's by no means an unattractive proposition, even if a few key features are missing. Its original films slate has dramatically improved after a rocky start. Recent hits include Oscar-nominees The Irishman and Marriage Story, and the service offers a decent, if slightly small, selection of well-known blockbuster hits, too.
In terms of functionality, Netflix's experience in the market shows, making it one of the most user-friendly and easy to navigate platforms around. Most of Netflix's content is downloadable offline as well, including every single Netflix Original. Our decision to go ahead was built on the positive results we'd seen when we introduced Free Super Saver Delivery, and an intuition that customers would quickly grasp that they were being offered the best deal in the history of shopping.
In addition, analysis told us that, if we achieved scale, we would be able to significantly lower the cost of fast delivery. In fact, tens of thousands of people joined Prime in that first month; and today, four out of five of them are still members with their original accounts. With PureVPNto unlock other streaming services & TV channels as well such as Netflix ,BT Sport, Foxtel, BBC iPlayer and many more. This long-running historical drama finally hits its home stretch with this final batch of episodes.
Heat might not have been recognised at the Oscars of its day, but the 25 years since its release have seen Michael Mann's crime thriller cemented as the classic of the genre. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are a formidable pair in this story of a detective trying to catch a seasoned criminal pulling his very last heist. Mann spent nine months shadowing an LAPD officer every Friday and Saturday night in the run up to Heat, responding to calls across the city to get a taste of what the crime there really looked like. The result is a film which exploits every hidden corner of the city in a relentless game of cat and mouse, with what we'd wager is the best telephone scene in cinema history. Unlocator allows you to watch the streaming services you want regardless of where in the world you are located. Furthermore our VPN service adds privacy and security to your online experience.
This six-part drama based on a novel by John Le Carre earns the accolade "all star cast". All three won Global Globes for their performances and a second series is in the works. Arguably the most iconic American sitcom ever made, The Office follows the every day lives of workers at a fictional paper manufacturer, Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Based on the UK sitcom of the same name, The Office's success and mockumentary style reinvented a whole genre of TV and launched the careers of comedy stalwarts Steve Carrell, Ed Helms and Mindy Kaling.
With nine seasons and some 200 episodes, The Office could be seen as quite the commitment for any viewer but there are too many moments to count which more than make up for the long ride. From Jim and Pam's office romance to Michael's grilled foot and Dwight's passion for fire regulation, there's almost too much to love about The Office. If you're watching on the go, the Prime Video app is worth downloading.
If you want to watch on your TV, find out more about which devices are supported and how to set up here. Get Out by Jordan Peele was fresh, funny, tense, original, contemporary, relevant supported by fantastic casting and full of underlying social commentary and political incorrectness. It does not fir to any genre, its not a thriller, not a horror, not a divine comedy, not a fantasy.
The "twist" if there is one is given away right at the beginning which takes any intrigue out of the film. The usually very watchable Lupita Nyong'o never gets into the roles of Adeline nor Red and Winston Duke proves himself to be entirely one dimensional. The film suffers from a poor screenplay which in long soliloquys by Red attempt to provide meaning to the film, but all they do is overlay the film with boredom. The brainchild of BBC and ITV, Britbox is a joint streaming venture by the two biggest networks in the UK.
For £5.99/month, the service gives you access to hundreds of BBC and ITV boxsets from classic comedies such as Absolutely Fabulous and Blackadder, to modern dramas including Broadchurch and Downton Abbey. It's safe to assume that - unless it's a huge title - most people would much rather wait for three months to watch them for free on the platform. The coronavirus pandemic has proved why no other streaming service comes close to competing with Netflix. Fans of the US drama series This Is Us have been on the edge of their seats since the beginning of season 5, following the events of the Pearson family - and when episodes will air in the UK.
UK Prime and non-Prime customers can access IMDb TV through the "IMDb TV – Popular Movies and TV – free with ads" carousel within the Prime Video app. In the coming weeks, the free streaming service will also be available via a standalone app on Fire TV. There's 24/7 customer support and three months free when you sign-up. Caitlin Moran's childhood in Wolverhampton and early years as a music journalist in London are relived in this adaptation of her 2014 novel of the same name. Feldstein's accent might be a little off the mark, but the story here is moving and entertaining nonetheless. Does any genre capture the repetitive mundanity of the pandemic better than the time-loop movie?
This millennial update on Groundhog Day manages to be much more than that by using the format as a mechanism for both comedy and darkness. The romantic comedy follows a couple who end up trapped at someone else's wedding and struggle to free themselves from the saccharine speeches and bad dancing, much as they try. Forced to relive the same events over and over again, they realise they must face their past in order to move into the future. Powers's story taps into the lesser-known, more private aspects of these infamous men's personalities, tackling some of the myth and in doing so showing us more of the men behind them. A gorgeously shot and slow burning drama which draws an unfortunate line from the civil rights movement to our polarised present day. It is an extended streaming service that offers the same features as Prime Music but with a music library of around 40 million songs.

One of the best movies about the War on Terror, Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Lockeris smartanda brilliant white-knuckle action movie. The film is set in Baghdad during the Iraq conflict, with scriptwriter Mark Boal basing the story on his time as a journalist embedded with a bomb disposal squad – portrayed in the film as a suicidally brave band led by a gung-ho sergeant . These tools can also be used to watch content that is normally blocked in your location by hiding your real IP address and connecting you to a server in another country.
